Overview

Yellow fever is a viral disease spread by mosquitoes in parts of Africa and South America. A single dose of the vaccine provides lifelong protection for most travellers and is required for entry into many countries.

Who needs it

Travellers aged 9 months and over visiting or transiting through yellow fever endemic countries. An International Certificate of Vaccination (ICVP) is issued.

Dosing schedule

Single dose, at least 10 days before travel.

Common side effects

Mild soreness at the injection site, headache, or low-grade fever for 1–5 days.
